Born in Texas in the 1930’s as an eclectic blend of big band and string band music along with jazz, blues, show tunes, cowboy songs and Dixieland – mixed with the ethnic sounds of Czech, Scottish, Irish, German and Hispanic culture, Western Swing became a definitive part of Texas – and American – music.
