Carolyn Martin: News

Western Swing Wednesdays - November 1, 2008

Join Carolyn Martin and the Nashville Swingers at the world famous Nashville Palace beginning on November 26th for Western Swing Wednesdays, an evening of western swing and traditional country music that will take place each and every Wednesday.

From the very beginning, western swing was dance music. Born in Texas in the 1930’s as an eclectic blend of big band and string band music along with jazz, blues, show tunes, cowboy songs and Dixieland – mixed with the ethnic sounds of Czech, Scottish, Irish, German and Hispanic culture, Western Swing became a definitive part of Texas – and American – music. The Nashville Palace’s large dance floor makes it the ideal venue for dancers as well as for listeners.

Come to Carolyn's Western Swing Wednesdays and dancing can again be part of your Nashville western swing experience.
