We saw you (again) last night in Arroyo Grande. Your voice has that beautiful old time quality. You could certainly teach these new "stars" a thing or two about what GREAT music is. You have such a bubbly personality and are a true delight to watch on stage. Please keep coming back!!

July 21, 2014

OMG (Ha, just keeping up with the times!). My wife and I are so glad to have been invited by Greg Hardy (Uncle Zilla) to spend Sunday afternoon (July 20th) at the Free Man Cajun Cafe in Deep Ellum. In his listing of musicians, he said that Carolyn Martin was going to play Guitar and sing. He assured us that we would be amazed! WOW, he was NOT KIDDING! We feel fortunate to have had a rare, intimate musical experience with awesome musicians that can only be experienced in such a small setting. As a bonus, we got a special treat in having David play the bass the whole performance. We became instant FANS! We purchased cd's to take the memories home and relive them! May you continue to be blessed, and thereby, blessing others! Most enthusiastically, Bobby & Howard from Denton, TX.

I saw you when you were on Larry's diner for the first time. Loved your sound; so refreshingly simple, yet elegant. Not grossly over-arranged and produced, as so many of today's artists. That's one of the reasons I like Larry's diner show so much.
I immediately bought all 5 of your current CDs. KEEP IT UP!!!!!

Heard you on Larry's Country diner. You blew mw away. Your voice is classic western country and your band is what I remember from the 40's and 50's. Ray Benson ain't got nothin on you lady.
I play guitar and was totally flabergasted by Rory Hoffman. Hope I can get to Nashvile to see you guys sometime.
I'm 76 and don't go to the concerts these days cause it's just not my style of music, but you guys as the young folks say ARE AWESOME.
I also would love to play your guitar just once. Hope to meet you sometime.

Just saw you on Larry's Country Diner and really enjoyed your singing. Small world. I grew up just outside of Abilene, used to go see the Big State Jamboree with Slim Willett. Graduated from McMurry College and have always been a western swing fan. Glad there are still folks keeping that music alive. We now live in Murfreesboro,TN after being native Texans for 70 years. Good luck!

I attended your show this evening 05-22-2012 at the Broken Spoke in Austin. I was not sure how a lady would pull off western swing music but you do a fantastic job. I was very glad I went, even for the short time I was able to be there.

I have played traditional country music for the last 43 years, not much in the last 10 now I do mostly country Gospel music when I play. I have evn worked up The Kind of Love and also a Gospel song words to Faded Love to keep some western swing in with our Gospel show.

If you ever are in dire need for a drummer or bass guitar player let me know I might be able to help you out. Or if you are in need of any musicians in the central Texas or anywhere in Texast me know I would be happy to help you out if I could, I still have a lot of country music contacts in central Texas.

I worked for a couple of years in a band that was Curtis Potter's backup band and I have worked for Johnny Bush on several occasions and once for Hank Thompson.

Sorry to bore you with my life story but if you are in the area again I will be sure to try to come see you. And now I am on the road with my job quite a bit so I need to keep a closer look at your schedule.

Thank you again for a fantasic show.

Mike Gold

Old buddy and fellow Texan, DJ Red Jones at WKNG, Tallapoosa GA, played my new Texas Swing song Wherever In Texas (pre-release) Thursday morning, Jan 27, 2011, and emailed me "...Are you familar with Carolyn Martin? She played the Lowell Opry House here not long ago. We had a strong mutual tie-in...Abilene is her home town and she has spent a lot of time in Baird...releasing Wherever In Texas I think it could be a good western swing hit. Should get good air play in TX." I would like to send it to you, Carolyn, or, You can hear it on ReverbNation/jerrykgreen. (I now live in Hendersonville TN)
